In the year of 2495, the world was thrown into World War 3. The United States, Mexico, Russia and their Allies declared war on much of Europe over economic and political disagreements. Within two years, the war had turned into a nuclear struggle. Much of the world’s population was killed, either from direct explosions, effects of radiation, or from their fellow man. Civilization crumbled and all hope seemed to be lost.
About 12 years later, in the year of 2507, civilization is well on its way to rebuilding. Technology, already having been fairly advanced, has been reintroduced slowly into the world by scientists and engineers who had survived. Electricity has been brought back into the more important buildings in district capitals. Districts, separated mainly by distance, consist of groupings of nearby settlements and towns, usually named by the larger "capital" city.
In the District of Tuscon, based around the formerly large Arizonan city, the New Tucson Guard keeps law and order. While they try to keep a strict military rule over the district, crime is still fairly common among looters and murderers, especially in the towns furthest from New Tucson. The ownership of guns is common to help protect from crime, especially those of the less modern cartridge style. Energy weapons, while in existence, are much rarer and are more often seen in the hands of the few able to build them themselves or some in the militaries.
